Knight Repeats as ACC 5k Champion

For the second-straight year, Justyn Knight won the 5000-meters at the ACC Championship, highlighting day two of the three-day meet.

In addition to Knight's win, Paige Stoner also reached the podium in the 5k, taking third overall and setting a school record in the process.
Knight turned in a time of 13:50.27, nearly a full two seconds ahead of NC State's George Parsons, to secure the win. His time is the 19th-fastest in the nation so far this year.
Behind Knight, teammate Iliass Aouani (13:57.76) finished in fourth to grab five team points. Colin Bennie (14:24.34), Adam Visokay (14:27.57), Â Kevin James (14:25.65) and Joe Dragon (15:14.69) turned in 10th, 11th, 14th and 24th place finishes respectively.
Stoner raced to a time of 16:05.04 in the women's race to set a new program record in the event, she was edged at the line by Cleo Boyd of Virginia for silver, while Notre Dame's Anna Rohrer picked up gold.
Behind Stoner, Chelsie Pennello finished 23rd in the event, crossing the line in 19:11.62.
In addition to the two finals, a number of Orange performers reached the finals in their respective events, led by Freddie Crittenden III who set a new season-best mark in the 60-meter hurdles.
Crittenden was dominant over the rest of the field, finishing in 7.65 seconds .23 seconds faster than the next-closest competitor – Kirk Lewis of Clemson. David Gilstrap (8.16 seconds) narrowly missed the finals by 0.01 seconds, finishing 10th, with Chevis Armstead (8.22 seconds) and Richard Floyd (8.79 seconds) finishing in 11th and 14th.
Danielle Delgado competed for the women in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 8.44 seconds to take 13th.
Sydney Leiher is another member of the Orange to advance to the finals, running to a mark of 4:48.68 seconds and advancing automatically, finishing second in her heat. Rachel Bonner (4:53.72) took 20th in the event, while McKenzie Altmayer (4:59.55) finished 23rd.
In the men's mile, Aidan Tooker was the first person left out of the final, crossing in 4:07.85, 0.09 seconds behind the final qualifying spot in the 10-man field. Adam Palamar (4:09.05) took 12th and Joel Hubbard finished in 30th (4:26.86).
Kadejhia Sellers continued the Orange women's streak of advancing after Leiher. She turned in the fifth-fastest time in the event with a mark of 53.61 to move onto Saturday's final. Cheyenne Trigg (57.64) placed 25th.
Sellers later raced in the 200, where she took 14th in a time of 24.04 seconds. Teammate Dasia Pressley also raced in the event, finishing in 24.81 seconds, which was good for 24th, while Victoria Parker finished in 28th (25.07). Kashif Miller finished in 22nd in the men's race, finishing in 21.97 seconds.

Winston Lee led the way in the men's 60-meters, taking fourth In 6.73 seconds, while in the women's race, Justice Richarson finished 18th with a time of 7.67 seconds and Parker (7.74) finished 24th. Lee moves onto Saturday's final.

Paul Lovell finished the 800 in 1:52.58, which was good for 24th.

In jumps, Randall Johnson finished in 14th, leaping to a mark of 6.79 meters, while Pascal Bastein (6.60 meters) finished 18th. Avianna Goode leaped to 5.26 meters on the women's side, which was good for 22nd.
At the end of day two, the Syracuse men sit in fifth with 20 points, while the Orange women have six.
