Weekend series set with Yellow Jackets
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Following a doubleheader sweep of Gardner-Webb, the Orange head to Atlanta, Georgia to close out the 10-day spring break road trip. Syracuse (15-8, 1-2 ACC) faces its second league opponent of the year in the Yellow Jackets (8-16, 2-4 ACC).
The Orange and the Ramblin' Wreck will play one game per day spanning Friday, March 17 until Sunday, March 19. All games will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra and live stats will be available for all three games.
The Orange and the Yellow Jackets enter the weekend series with six games under their belts, as the all-time series is tied 3-3. The pair first met in 2002 where Georgia Tech earned the first victory in a 6-4 decision. Most recently, the Yellow Jackets defeated the Orange 6-4 in eight innings of play last April to split the series as the third and final game was cancelled. Syracuse and Georgia Tech played a combined 21 innings over the span of two games in the series.
The Ramblin' Wreck are 8-16 on the year and 2-4 in conference play. GT dropped its opening ACC series to Florida State, 3-0, but went on to defeat Notre Dame, 2-1, with a pair of victories in nine-inning games. Georgia Tech has wins over Georgia State, Iowa (2), Omaha (2), Radford and Notre Dame.
