Syracuse is looking to retain the Packard Cup
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse men's rowing team concludes its 2017 regular season on Saturday morning when it hosts Dartmouth. The Packard Cup will be on the line when the two first varsity eight crews compete at 8 a.m. on the Onondaga Lake Outlet in Liverpool.
The Orange defeated the Big Green in the first varsity eight competition in 2016, claiming the Packard Cup for the first time since the 2012 campaign. The boat was able to put half a deck in front of the opposing crew to register the win.
Assistant coach Justin Stangel and junior coxswain Dominic Santora spoke with Cuse TV ahead of Wednesday afternoon's practice at the James A. Ten Eyck Memorial Boathouse. One can watch the video by clicking the "play" button in the above image or access it in the side links.
Syracuse is coming off a victory against Boston University and Columbia on April 22. With its win in the first varsity eight race, the Orange collected the Conlan Cup for the first time since 2012.
