Orange Move Up in Both Polls

The Syracuse men's lacrosse team moved up to No. 2 in this week's USILA/NIKE Coaches' Poll and the Maverik Media Poll after closing out the regular season with a 11-9 win at Colgate on Saturday.

Maryland is No. 1 in both polls for the second straight week, receiving 257 points and 11 first place votes in the USILA poll. 'Cuse comes in with 243 points and two first place votes. Ohio State (227), Albany (204) and Notre Dame (196) round out the top five.

In addition to No. 4 Albany and No. 5 Notre Dame, Syracuse has faced No. 6 Duke, No. 9 Johns Hopkins, No. 10 North Carolina twice and No. 14 Army this season.

In the Maverik Media poll, the Terrapins collected 639 points and 31 first place votes to lead off the poll. The Orange registered 596 points and one first place vote this week. Ohio State, Albany and Denver round out the rest of the top five.

Syracuse will host Yale on Sunday in the Carrier Dome for the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPNU. Tickets can be purchased here.
