Knight and Palamar To Compete at Payton Jordan Invite

Syracuse standout distance runners Justyn Knight and Adam Palamar will take on some of the world's top athletes at the Payton Jordan Invitational on Friday, in the Orange's final competition before the ACC Championships.
Knight takes on the 5k:
- Knight is one of nine collegiate athletes who will compete in the 40-runner 5000-meter race at the event.
- The other 31 racers are all professional and international competitors. Â
- In addition to Knight, other top collegians in this race include defending NCAA Champion Edward Cheserek, BYU's Jonathan Harper, Rory Linkletter and Clayton Young, Wisconsin All-American Morgan McDonald, Butler's Erik Peterson and Campbell's Amon Terer.
- Knight broke the Syracuse 5000-meter record at last year's Payton Jordan Invitational, crossing the line in 13:27.23.
Palamar Competes in the 1500
- Palamar is one-of-three collegiate competitors in the 25-man 1500-meter race, along with Southern Utah's Kasey Knevelbaard and Arizona's Carlos Villarreal.
- Other top competitors include Mac Fleet, Eric Jenkins, Brandon Kidder Izaic Yorks among other professional racers.
- Last year, Palamar nearly broke the 800-meter school record last season, finishing in 1:50.17, just 0.02 seconds of Valerij Petrulevich's mark from 2003.
