
Orange Earn ACC Tourney Sixth Seed

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Matching its highest seed since joining the Atlantic Coast Conference for the 2013 season, Syracuse (31-18, 10-10 ACC) has earned the sixth seed heading into the 2017 ACC Tournament in Chapel Hill, N.C..
The Orange will face off against No. 3 seed North Carolina (36-18, 14-9 ACC) in the opening round at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 11. The Orange split their two matchups against the Tar Heels this season.
Florida State earned the top-seed in the tournament, while Louisville, North Carolina, Boston College and Notre Dame round out the top five. Syracuse is sixth, while NC State ranks seventh and Virginia is eighth.
ACC fans will be able to watch all seven games of the championship as Thursday's and Friday's contests will be televised by the league's Regional Sports Networks, and Saturday's title game will be carried live on ESPN.
Daily tickets are available for $5 for adults and $3 for youth 18 and under, while tournament passes are available in advance of the tournament for $9. Students from an ACC school can enter for free with valid student identification. Tickets can be purchased online: http://theacc.co/sb17tix.
SU was a sixth seed in its inaugural ACC tournament debut in 2013 and it lost to third-ranked Louisville 12-3 (5) in the first round. In 2014, Syracuse was again the sixth seed and dropped the tournament opener to No. 3 seed Virginia, 10-4.
The Orange didn't make the cut in 2015, but went on to secure the seventh seed last season before losing the first round game to Louisville, 1-0.
