
O’Hara Leads NCAA in On-Base Percentage

'Cuse senior tops NCAA stats list
Syracuse senior Sydney O'Hara is the nation's leader in on-base percentage for the 2017 season. O'Hara captured the NCAA Division I statistical championship with her .626 OBP, which is also a program single-season record.
In 49 games for 'Cuse, O'Hara recorded 60 hits, 46 walks and was hit by a pitch eight times to reach base 114 times.
During her final Syracuse campaign, O'Hara also earned NFCA Third Team All-America honors, was an NFCA Mid-Atlantic First Team All-Region selection and was the first All-ECAC First Team honoree for SU. She was also a top-10 finalist for USA Softball's Collegiate Player of the Year to become Syracuse's first player to earn a nomination for the award known as the most prestigious in collegiate softball.
Campbell University's Amber Schisler finished second in the nation with a .618 OBP and Kendyl Lindaman of the University of Minnesota ranked third with a .598 mark. A final list of the top 50 players in this statistical category can be found here.
A first-team All-ACC selection, O'Hara became the first Syracuse player with multiple honors in the Atlantic Coast Conference. She was also tabbed a College Sports Madness First Team All-American.
A native of Cicero, N.Y., O'Hara closed her four-year campaign at Syracuse by rewriting the Orange record books. A pitcher and first baseman, O'Hara is the owner of four single-game records, six single-season categorical leads and a pair of career-best marks for the Orange.
O'Hara graduated from Syracuse in May with degrees in Human Development and Family Science and Physical Education in Coaching from the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics.
