Orange Trio Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse seniors Haley McDonnell and Devon Parker and junior Kathy Rudkin are among the 402 student-athletes who earned a spot on the 2017 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

McDonnell earns the honor for the second consecutive year. The accounting and management double major served as a team co-captain in 2017. She played in 19 games, making 13 starts on the Syracuse defense. McDonnell recorded a career-high 11 caused turnovers to go along with 15 ground balls.

Parker also earns the honor for the second straight year. She moved from the midfield to attack this season and posted career highs in points (41), goals (29) assists (12), ground balls (19) and caused turnovers. Parker, a television, radio and film major, ranked fourth on the team in scoring, third in goals and tied for third in assists.

Rudkin is making her first appearance on the IWLCA Honor Roll. She played in all 22 games in 2017, making 20 starts on the Syracuse defense. She posted career highs in ground balls (33), caused turnovers (11) and draw controls (15). Rudkin is majoring in public communications.

Syracuse's three selections to the IWLCA Honor Roll tied for the second-highest total for any team in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
