SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse volleyball team heads Midwest to face Wisconsin, Kansas State and Arkansas at the Kansas State Invitational on Sep. 1-2 at Ahearn Fieldhouse.

The Orange will face Wisconsin and Kansas State on the 1^st at 11 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively. On the 2^nd, 'Cuse will wrap-up tournament play against Arkansas at noon.

The matchup with Kansas State will be streamed live on WatchESPN.

The Opponents
Friday marks the second time that Syracuse faces off against Wisconsin. The two teams last met in 2007, when the Badgers swept 'Cuse 3-0. Ranked sixth nationally, Wisconsin enters its matchup with Syracuse after sweeping Louisville and North Carolina in the first matches of the season.

'Cuse and Kansas State square off for the third time, with K-State leading the all-time series 2-0. The two teams have not met since 2012, and since then the Wildcats have reached the NCAA tournament three times. Kansas State opened its campaign with a 2-1 mark at the Beaver State Classic with wins over Pacific and Idaho and a setback versus Oregon State.

The Orange will meet Arkansas for the first time since 1999—a matchup in which the Razorbacks were victorious. Arkansas defeated CSU Bakersfield, Louisiana Monroe and Utah State to claim the Arkansas Classic title las weekend.

Opening Weekend Recap
Syracuse split four matches in the Syracuse Tournament to open up the season. The Orange defeated Siena and Niagara in straight sets and dropped matches to Grand Canyon (3-1) and Colgate (3-0).
Santita Ebangwese, Amber Witherspoon and Ella Saada paced the 'Cuse attack with 34 kills each. Jalissa Trotter recorded 86 assists, Belle Sand added 71 digs and Witherspoon blocked 16 shots.

Of Note
Head Coach Leonid Yelin enters the weekend one victory shy of the 550-win mark. He would become the 26^th active coach to reach the milestone.

Sand enters the weekend ranked third in the ACC with 5.46 digs per set. Witherspoon sits sixth in the conference in hitting percentage (.365) and eighth in blocks per set (1.23). Ebangwese's .413 hitting percentage ranks fourth in the ACC.
