GAME INFORMATION
- Admission and parking are free to all Syracuse field hockey contests at J.S. Coyne Stadium.
- Saturday's game will also coincide with an afternoon football game, when Syracuse hosts Central Michigan at 3:30 p.m. Fans arriving for field hockey are encouraged to park in the Manley South parking lot (adjacent to the south end of J.S. Coyne Stadium near the SU Soccer Stadium and Ensley Athletic Center) and tell the parking attendant you are arriving for the field hockey game.
Syracuse vs. Wake Forest
- Saturday's game will be the second ACC game of 2017 for the Orange.
- Syracuse and Wake Forest are knotted at four wins apiece in the eight game series, having split the last-two contests.
-Â Lies Lagerweij (2), Roos Weers (2) and Jenn Bleakney all had goals during the two matchups last season.
'Cuse vs. Rutgers
- This Sunday, the Orange and Scarlet Knights will meet for the first time since 2012.
- The Orange hold an all-time advantage of 20-6 vs. Rutgers, including a perfect 7-0 mark under head coach Ange Bradley.
- Since Bradley took over the program in 2007, the Orange have out-scored Rutgers 36-6 in those seven meetings.
Weers Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week
- Weers has earned the ACC's Defensive Player of the Week for her play vs Boston College and Albany, in which she scored two goals and led the defense to two shutouts.
-Â This is her fifth time earning the accolade, winning twice in both her freshman and sophomore years.
-Â Weers is the first Syracuse player to earn ACC weekly honors.
Nation's Longest Shutout Streak
- With Sunday's 2-0 win over Albany, the Orange set a program record for most consecutive shutouts with seven.
-Â This ongoing streak of shutouts is only two behind the ACC record for consecutive shutouts, nine (North Carolina in 2007 and 2009).
-Â The NCAA doesn't track shutout streaks, however the ACC record for consecutive shutouts is nine and that's believed to be the same record nationally (Old Dominion 1989, 1991 and North Carolina 2007, 2009).
- 12 total shutouts on the season would put the Orange in the top-15 in NCAA history, so 'Cuse is already more than halfway there.
Hot Start
-Â This is the 5th time in program history the Orange has started at least 7-0, including each of the last-three seasons.
-Â Eight of the best-10 starts to a season have come under head coach Ange Bradley.
-Â A win over Wake Forest on Saturday would put Syracuse in sole possession of fourth place for all-time starts to a season in program history.
Orange Lead the ACC
-Â Since joining the nation's best conference in 2013, head coach Ange Bradley's squad has the best record conference play amongst the seven member schools.
-Â Syracuse's 17 league wins since 2013 stands two more than the next-closest opponent (North Carolina, 14).
