SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's soccer team (5-3-2) hits the road for the first time in over a month as the Orange take on No. 5 North Carolina (7-2-0) on Saturday at 12 p.m. The Tar Heels are one of eight ranked teams on the 'Cuse schedule this season.
Â
Last Time Out
Syracuse recorded its second tie against a ranked opponent after taking No. 19 Clemson to a 0-0 result in Syracuse on Sept. 24. The orange totaled nine shots on the night, led by freshman Mackenzie Vlachos who posted her first two-shot game as an Orange. Senior keeper Courtney Brosnan made five stops in goal for Syracuse on 16 shots by Clemson.
Â
Finder's Keepers
Brosnan has recorded 110 minutes in goal seven times in her career, including last game's start versus Clemson. She has amassed 34 saves and posted a career-best 15 saves against Florida State in the double overtime contest last season. With five more saves against Clemson, Brosnan has brought her career saves total to 283, good for third in program history for career saves.
Â
On the Road Again
The Orange hit the road for three games away from SU Soccer Stadium, beginning at North Carolina. Syracuse holds a winning mark on the road this season, posting a 2-1 record with the only loss coming to No.8 Florida in Gainesville. 'Cuse has accumulated six goals in just three road games so far this year.
