The Syracuse track and field teams are set to ramp up competition this week, with sprinters heading to the 2018 Armory Dr. Sander Invitational, and the distance runners heading to the John Thomas Terrier Invitational.
Last Time Out
- 'Cuse heads into the meet on the heels of a strong performance at the Cornell Upstate Challenge.
- The 60-meter hurdles were a highlight of the day, as the Orange feature their deepest stable of runners in the event in recent memory. Seven of the eight finalists on the men's side represented SU, with Angelo Goss coming away with the win in 7.82 seconds.
- Danielle Delgado and Aviana Goode went one-two on the women's side as well.
- Kashif Miller and Justice Richardson turned in wins in the 60-meter dash, while Aidan Tooker won his season debut in the 1000-meters as well.
Ranking the Orange
- Syracuse checks in at No. 25 in this week's USTFCCCA Men's Poll.
- It's the 18th-straight poll in which the Orange have been ranked inside the top-25, a stretch that spans two years this week.
Previewing Boston
- The Orange have a history of running exceedingly fast mile times at this meet. Syracuse has posted six sub-four minute miles on this weekend in the last-three seasons. Adam Palamar (3:57.39) was the 2017 champion, while Justyn Knight (3:56.87) won it in 2016. Joel Hubbard and Palamar also posted sub-3:59 times at this meet last season.
- That's expected to continue in 2018, as 'Cuse has loaded the mile in what proves to be a competitive field. Knight, Tooker, Noah Affolder, Philo Germano, Nathan Henderson and Andy Paladino are set to compete in the event this weekend. The field also features numerous professionals.
- Rachel Bonner and Syndey Leiher will run in the women's
- Iliass Aouani, Declan Kottmeier and Jared Lautenslager will run in the men's 3000-meters.|
Previewing New York
- The Orange will get started at 10:30 a.m. with the men's and women's long jump. Aviana Goode, Pascal Bastein and Randall Johnson will kickoff the day for SU.
- The track events will get underway at 1 p.m. with Alexis Harper, Cheyenne Trigg, Bastein and Jalen Racine in the 400-meter run.
- The 60-meter hurdles will again feature the deepest field, with Goss, Richard Floyd, David Gilstrap, Matt Moore, Chevis Armstead, Kelvin Almonte, Jamil Adams and Andrew Aguilera taking the track at 2 p.m.
- Danielle Delgado and Good will race immediately after at 2:15 p.m.
- Justice Richardson, Imani Clark, Dasia Pressley and Eunice Boateng will take on the 60-meter dash.
- Clark, Pressley and Victoria Parker will then have a quick turnaround for the 200-meter at 4 p.m.

- Sellers will close out the day in the 400-meter invite at 7 p.m.
