SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse University Women's Basketball team heads to The Bay State in search of its third-straight win for an Atlantic Coast Conference match up at Boston College on Sunday, Jan. 28. 'Cuse is coming off an 86-51 win over Clemson last Thursday to improve to 11-0 at home this season. The game will tip-off at 1 p.m. and will be available to stream on the ACC Network Extra.
Syracuse (16-5, 4-4 in the ACC) is led by sophomore sensation Tiana Mangakahia who leads the nation in assists (212) and assists per game (10.1) this season. The Australia native scored a team-high 18 points against Clemson and is currently pacing the Orange with 17.5 points per game through 21 games. Digna Strautmane added 16 points and nine rebounds against the Tigers and leads the team with 7.0 rebounds per game.
'Cuse is top-50 in various categories including 3-point field goal attempts (4th), 3-point field goals made (9th), assists (35th), assists per game (45th), rebounds (45th), and win-loss percentage (46th).
Boston College (6-14, 1-6 in the league) is looking to snap a five-game losing streak. In their last time out, the Eagles fell to Duke 75-50, despite sophomore forward Emma Guy's double-double performance with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Eagles started shooting a blistering 63 percent from the field and led 11-8 before Duke took control of the game with a 19-3 run. Â Freshman guard Milan Bolden-Morris leads the team, averaging 13 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. The Eagles are averaging 59.4 points per game and are shooting 39.8 percent from the field this season.
SERIES HISTORY
Sunday marks the 51st meeting between Syracuse and Boston College, with Syracuse leading the all-time series 27-23. The Orange have won the last seven meetings with the Eagles and have won the last three by a double-digit margin.
Last time they met, 'Cuse earned a 72-45 victory on Feb. 5, 2017 in Chestnut Hill. Alexis Peterson led the Orange with 26 points, while Brittney Sykes chipped in 18 in the win.
