
Syracuse Hosts Louisville for Senior Night

SYRACUSE, N.Y. –Syracuse University's 15th-ranked field hockey team (8-5, 1-4 ACC) will host No. 10 Louisville on Friday night at 7 p.m. at J.S. Coyne Stadium. Fans can watch the game live on ACC Network Extra.
Syracuse is looking to rebound from a 4-1 loss on the road at then-ranked No. 16 Wake Forest this past Sunday. Against the Demon Deacons, Carolin Hoffmann scored in the 9th minute for a 1-0 lead. It was her first goal of the season and her eighth career goal. Fellow sophomore Chiara Gutsche leads the Orange offense this season with eight goals.
Louisville (11-4, 2-3 ACC) has won four of its last five games, most recently a 3-2 overtime win against Miami (OH). The team's leading scorer is Bethany Russ, who has nine goals this season, and recently earned a career high of four points against Miami (OH).
Syracuse leads the all-time series 10-5 dating back to their first meeting in 1993. Last season, 'Cuse and Louisville met twice with the Cardinals winning 2-1 in double overtime during the regular season and eliminating the Orange from the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, 3-2.
