Battle is Syracuse's leading scorer through the first five games of the season. He is averaging 17.6 points per game. Battle was 8-for-10 from the floor, including 3-for-3 from 3-point range, on his way to a season-high 24 points in the Orange's win against Colgate. Last season, Battle led the nation in average minutes played (39.0) and was a second-team All-ACC performer.
Â
Lute Olson won 780 games in 34 seasons, 24 of which were spent at the University of Arizona. During that stretch he led the Wildcats to 11 Pac-10 Conference titles, 23 consecutive NCAA Tournaments, four Final Four appearances and a National Championship in 1997.
Â
The 2019 Lute Olson Award will be presented at the College Insider awards event in April at the site of the men's division I national championship in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
