Orange Impress in Lone Fall Race

Ithaca, N.Y. – Syracuse University's men's rowing team had an impressive showing at its lone fall event placing second and third in the varsity eight at the Cornell Autumn Classic in Ithaca, N.Y., on Saturday morning.
The Orange varsity eight "A" crew beat Cornell in the super sprint but the Big Red edged 'Cuse by three seconds in the head race giving he host a one second win over Syracuse. The "B" squad finished in third overall, while the Orange "C" crew was seventh. The final Orange eight crew was 13th to cross the line in the second flight of the day.
In the morning session, the Orange placed second, third, fourth and sixth in the fours. Cornell took the top spot with a final time of 13:15.5 while Syracuse's "A" squad finished in 13:31.0.
The Orange wrap up their fall season and head into winter training. 'Cuse begins its spring campaign on Saturday, April 6 with a race against Wisconsin in Chicago, Ill.
