
Goode's Long Jump Victory Highlights Greg Page Relays

Aviana Goode leapt to a mark of 5.63 meters in the long jump to pick up the event victory. Her win was the day's biggest highlight at the Greg Page Relays, which kicked off the Syracuse track and field teams' 2018-19 slate.
Goode was the lone victor, but 'Cuse posted numerous podium finishes and top times on the afternoon at Barton Hall in Ithaca, N.Y.
Cheyenne Trigg finished third in the 60-meter dash, crossing the line in 8.01 seconds. Eariler in the day, she turned in a time of 7.83 seconds as the third-fastest competitor out of the prelims. Teammate Eunice Boateng (7.69) was the fastest in the preliminary round, but did not compete in the finals. On the men's side, Chuka Soronnadi finished fourth with a time of 7.01.
Goode also sat the finals out after posting one of the best prelim times in her other event, the 60-meter hurdles. She ran a 9.02 second mark in the prelim, but didn't run in the final. The men's field featured more Orange, with Richard Floyd coming away with a second-place finish. His time of 7.96 seconds was just 0.02 behind Cornell's Austin Lyons for the victory. Chevis Armstead (8.52) finished fifth, while Andrew Aguilera (8.61) took ninth.
Keith McAteer took silver in the men's 3000-meter run. His time of 8:56.50 was just shy of Ithaca's Garrett Bampos (8:53.46) for the win. Thomas Struzzieri (9:29.41), Pierce Miller (9:43.59) and Declan Kottmeier (9:54.56) finished fifth, 11th and 14th, respectively.
Kelsey Potts, Ryley Higgins, Kerry Reilly and Olivia Elston combined to compete in the DMR for the Orange, taking second overall (13:18.14). Ithaca won the event in 12:59.14.
In the 300-meter dash, Alexis Crosby finished in 40.85 seconds, which was good for third, while Alexis Harper crossed the line just behind in fourth (40.90). Lily Worden (45.83/28th) Hannah Loder (45.96/29th) and Mariana McManus (47.44/34th) also competed for the Orange.
Jordan Davenport finished 10th in the 300 for the Orange men, crossing the line in 36.18. Teammate Brandon Williams finished 22nd (37.02) and Kwaku Agyemang (39.66) took 51st.
Robert Roosa placed 10th in the men's 500-meter dash, he crossed the line in 1:09.41. James Proctor finished 15th (1:12.14), Kokeith Perry placed 21st (1:13.89) and Cameron Bailey closed in 22nd (1:14.28). Kayli Jones and Elizabeth Cultra finished in 21st and 22nd, respectively in the women's 500. Jones finished in 1:30.38, while Cultra crossed the line in 1:30.69.
Keiana Mitchell was the lone SU women's competitor in the 3000-meter run, finishing in 11:23.99 which was good for eighth.
'Cuse will return to action following winter break, picking up their schedule in mid-January.
