Brendan Bomberry notched his first professional assist on opening weekend, headlining the first weekend of the season for the six Orange players on opening day rosters.
Bomberry and Randy Staats, who registered two goals and six assists, for a game-high eight points, combined to lead Georgia to a 16-12 win over New England. That duo was the only two 'Cuse alums in action on week one.
Four more Syracuse alums will kickoff their 2018-19 slate this coming weekend, as Stephen Keough (Colorado), Warren Hill (Rochester), Cody Jamieson (Rochester) and Jeremy Thompson (Saskatchewan) also made NLL opening day rosters.
The six 'Cuse alums on the NLL rosters continues to showcase Syracuse as one of the nation's best producers of professional lacrosse talent. The newly formed Premier Lacrosse League will feature 10 Orange standouts (Steven Brooks, John Galloway, John Lade, JoJo Marasco, Jovan Miller, Brandon Mullins, Kevin Rice, Sergio Salcido, Jeremy Thompson and Joel White) in its inaugural season. At least nine former Syracuse players are expected to be on Major League Lacrosse rosters this spring as well.
