SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse University Women's Basketball Team returns to the Carrier Dome to face No. 17 Duke on Thursday, Feb. 11. 'Cuse is coming off of a 71-61 comeback win at Wake Forest last Sunday and is 4-2 in its last six games against top-25 opponents inside the Carrier Dome. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. and can be watched on RSN with LaChina Robinson and Tom Werme on the call.
The Orange (18-7, 6-6 ACC) seek their second top-25 win this season which would move Syracuse above .500 in conference play. In their previous matchups against ranked teams this season, the Orange defeated No. 11/12 Florida State at home and had a pair of losses to No. 4 Louisville and No. 2 Mississippi State.
Sophomore Tiana Mangakahia leads the Orange, averaging a team-high 18.0 points per game and nation-leading 10.1 assists per game. With 252 assist, Mangakahia sits third in the ACC in the single-season assists record book. Junior Miranda Drummond's 15.3 points per game place her second on the team in scoring and top-15 conference.
No. 17 Duke (20-6, 9-4 ACC) is led by Lexie Brown who leads the ACC in steals (3.6), and is third in scoring (19.8 PPG), fifth in minutes per game (34.8) and eighth in field-goal percentage (47.5). As a team, the Blue Devils rank fourth in the country in 3-point field goal percentage (40.1), 15th in defensive field goal percentage (35.4) and 16th in field goal percentage (46.8).
SERIES HISTORY
Thursday night marks the sixth meeting between the two. Duke holds a 5-1 advantage in the series and has won the last two meetings. Syracuse's lone win over the Blue Devils was Jan. 3, 2016, when the Orange earned an 86-50 win inside the Carrier Dome. That game also marks the last time the two met in Syracuse. Last season, Duke bounced 'Cuse from the ACC Tournament. Then freshman Gabrielle Cooper had 18 points and tied her career-high in made 3-pointers with six in the 68-46 loss.
