Orange Picked Second in Preseason ACC Poll

Donahue, Radziewicz Voted to Preseason All-ACC Team
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse has been picked to finish second in the ACC in a preseason vote of the league's women's lacrosse head coaches. The Orange earned two first-place votes and 53 points. In addition, senior Riley Donahue and junior Alexa Radziewicz were selected to the Preseason All-ACC Team.

North Carolina was chosen as the preseason favorite to defend its ACC title. The Tar Heels received two first-place votes and 59 points. National semifinalist Boston College also had two first-place votes and 48 points for the third spot. Virginia was picked fourth (39 pts.), followed by Notre Dame (37 pts.) and Duke (23 pts.). Virginia Tech was seventh in the poll (19 pts.), while Louisville was 10th (10 pts.).

Donahue earned IWLCA All-America Second Team accolades last season when she led the team in points (68), goals (42) and assists (26). She also posted career highs in ground balls (29) and draw controls (17).
Donahue recorded four or more points in a game times in 2017. She was selected to the All-Northeast Region First Team, the All-ACC Second Team as well as the ACC All-Tournament Team.

Radziewicz started all 22 games last season on defense and helped Syracuse hold its opponents to less than 10 goals eight times. She ranked second on the team in caused turnovers with a career-high 18. Radziewicz also recorded personal bests in ground balls (18) and draw controls (11).

The Orange open the 2018 season on Friday, Feb. 9 against Connecticut at 5 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Admission is free.
