THE GAME
- Syracuse looks to win its season opener against Binghamton, the first time in program history the two squads will meet in an opener.
- The game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra, with Evan Stockton and Sean Salisbury on the call. Matt Park and Kyle Fetterly will carry the game on TK99/105 and Noah Eagle, Drew Carter and Jonathon Hoppe will broadcast the game for WAER.

THE BINGHAMTON SERIES
- Syracuse and Binghamton have squared off six times previously, with all matchups coming since 2007.
- The Orange control the series 6-0.
- Syracuse won last year's contest in a nailbiter. The Orange defeated the bearcats 9-8. Jamie Trimboli and Ryan Simmons each scored twice, while Brendan Bomberry had a team-leading three points.

SEASON OPENING SUCCESS
- SU owns an all-time record of 79-19 (.806) in season-opening games.
- The Orange are 38-10 in campaign starters since 1970 and has won 18-of-19 under head coach John Desko.
- Syracuse defeated Siena, 19-6, in the season opener last season. Brendan Bomberry and Nate Solomon each had four goals, while Jordan Evans led the way with eight points.
- Since the Orange began playing in the Carrier Dome, Syracuse is 22-1 (.957) in Dome openers. The team's only liss was a 16-15 double overtime decision against Albany in the 2013 season opener.

DESKO REACHES 500 SU WINS
- A win on Saturday would be head coach John Desko's 501st win as a member of the Syracuse lacrosse program, including his time as a player and assistant coach.
- In four years as a player, Desko played in 35 wins. He won 229 games in 19 years as an assistant coach under Roy Simmons Jr. and currently has 236 wins in his 19th year as head coach.
- Desko has the third-most wins as an Orange head coach, behind Roy Simmons Jr. (290) and Roy Simmons Sr. (253).

'CUSE CLOSING IN ON 900 WINS
- Syracuse enters the 2018 season with 895 wins, looking to become the second program in NCAA DI lacrosse history to reach 900 wins.
- Johns Hopkins (971), Syracuse (895) and Maryland (808) are the only three programs with 800 or more wins. Navy is 11 from the plateau and Army is 19.
- There are six other programs in the 700 win club, Johns Hopkins (971), Maryland (808), Navy (789), Army (781), Hobart (763) and Cornell (746). All but the Terps appear on the Orange's 2018 schedule.

NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS
- Syracuse finished the 2017 season 9-2 against the non-conference slate.
- Since joining the ACC, the Orange is 34-7 versus non-conference opponents, including a 31-3 mark in regular-season, non-league contests.

TEN BELOW
- Syracuse has won 48-straight games when holding opponents to under 10 goals in a game.
- In 2016, the Orange held 11 opponents under that mark.
- Last season, Syracuse has held Siena (6), Albany (9), St. John's (9), Johns Hopkins (7), Cornell (8), Binghamton (8) and Colgate (9) under that mark.
- The last time Syracuse failed to win when keeping its foe to single digits was on April 28, 2012, when the Orange fell at Notre Dame, 8-6.

DOME-INATION
- Syracuse is 233-34 (.872) in the Carrier Dome since it began playing the majority of its home games there in 1981, including 6-1 this year.
- The Orange finished 9-0 at the Dome in 2015, the 16th time since 1981 (the lacrosse team's first year there) that SU was perfect at home.
- The Orange has won 30 of its last-33 home games.

AGAINST THE AMERICA EAST
- Syracuse is 23-6 all-time against the seven current members of the America East Conference.
- Syracuse will open with back-to-back games against America East foes after taking on Binghamton and Albany to start 2018.
- 'Cuse boasts a 6-0 mark against Binghamton, 15-1 record against Albany and a 2-5 record vs. UMBC. Syracuse has not played Stony Brook, Vermont, UMass Lowell or Hartford in an in-season contest to date. The Orange did scrimmage Vermont this fall.

POLL POINTS
- Syracuse enters the week ranked No. 10 in both the USILA and USLacrosse/Nike polls, and No. 11 in the Maverik Media Poll.
- Syracuse has appeared in 67 consecutive USILA polls. The last time the Orange were not ranked was April 30, 2012.
- Overall, Syracuse has been ranked in 207 of the 210 USILA polls that have been released since 2000 and 425 of the 454 polls since the USILA began its national rankings in 1973.
- The Orange appeared in 273 straight USILA polls from April 10, 1978 to April 30, 2007.

YOUTH MOVEMENT
- Jamie Trimboli accomplished the rare feat of breaking into the Orange's starting lineup as a true freshman in 2017.
- Doing it as an offensive player is even more astonishing, he's the first offensive player to start 10-or-more games for Syracuse since Pat Perritt in 2006.
- Trimboli started 10 games, and appeared in all-16, registering 13 goals and two assists on the first midfield line.

ORANGE LED THE NATION IN ONE-GOAL GAMES
- Syracuse led the country with 11 one-goal games and sports a 9-2 record in such contests last season.
- 128 Division I games have been decided by one goal. Syracuse (9-2) has more wins in one-goal games than any other team has games played.

MASTERS OF THE MAN-UP
- Syracuse finished fifth in the nation in man-up offense (.500), thanks in part to a 5-for-5 game against Hobart in extra-man opportunities.
- Nick Mariano led the way with three man-up goals against Hobart, and finished 16th nationally with six man-up scores on the season.
- In 2015, Dylan Donahue set the NCAA record for man-up goals with 15.

IN THE CLEAR
- Syracuse posted its best clearing percentage in program history in 2017, its third-straight year in the top-eight nationally.
- Syracuse cleared the ball at a 91.9% sucess rate last season, which was tops in the nation.
- According to research done by the Virginia Athletic Media Relations Office, there have been 35 seasons in which a Division I team has cleared the ball at 90 percent or better, including five by SU.

- Four members of this year's roster have dads who played varsity lacrosse for the Orange. Of the four, two are currently wearing the same jersey number their father wore:
