Knight Earns ACC Performer of the Year
3/16/2018 2:55:00 PM | Track and Field
Another day, another award for Justyn Knight.
The Orange standout was named ACC Men's Track Performer of the Year after a phenomenal indoor track and field campaign. Knight was named ACC Meet MVP for claiming two conference titles and followed it up with a National Championship in the 5000-meters.
A member of The Bowerman Watch List, Knight collected 18 points at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, with a runner-up performance in the 3000-meters, to complement his 5k title. His 18 points were enough to finish 10th as a team at the event.
Already named USTFCCCA Northeast Region Performer of the Year this indoor campaign, Knight claimed the award last year as well. He's been the ACC Performer of the Year three times in cross country as well, and was the USTFCCCA National Performer of the Year this fall as well.
Majoring in social work, Knight enters his outdoor campaign looking to improve on his already record-breaking championship count. He's won 15 ACC Championships, including 10 as an individual, and owns three NCAA Championships, two of which were individual titles.
