Bomberry and Mellen Sweep ACC Honors

With Saturday's win at No. 3 Duke, the Syracuse men's lacrosse team swept ACC Player of the Week honors.
Brendan Bomberry was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a game-high four goals, and Nick Mellen was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week after holding nation's leading scorer Justin Guterding to one goal.
Bomberry netted four goals, with three coming after halftime. He scored two of the Orange's final-three goals to erase what was a two-goal fourth quarter deficit.
Mellen held Guterding to three total points, 3.5 points below his season average entering the contest. He also grabbed two ground balls and caused two turnovers in the win.
The No. 9 Orange and No. 6 Notre Dame will square off at 5 p.m. on Saturday, in a game set to be broadcast on ESPNU. General admission tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for youth (12 and under) for Notre Dame and $10 for adults and $5 for youth, for the four remaining home games after.
