Hawryschuk Earns Weekly ACC Honor

GREENSBORO, N.C.— The Atlantic Coast Conference has named Syracuse sophomore Emily Hawryschuk as its women's lacrosse Co-Offensive Player of the Week for her performance last week against Loyola and Virginia Tech.

Hawryschuk posted career highs in points (8) and goals (6) in the Orange's upset of No. 9/6 Loyola in overtime. Her sixth goal of the day came 50 seconds into overtime to give Syracuse a 12-11 victory over the Greyhounds. In addition, she took every draw and finished with five draw controls to go along with four ground balls. Against the Hokies, Hawryschuk tallied three goals to go along with a career-high seven draw controls.

Hawryschuk leads Syracuse in points (48) and goals (40) this season. She has now recorded multiple goals 11 times in 2018 and has scored four or more goals in five games. Hawryschuk has already tied her point total from last season when she finished with 48 points on 38 goals and 10 assists. She is now tied for 24th in Division I in goals scored this season.

The Orange return to the Dome after two weeks away for the Saturday, April 14 match up with No. 5/5 North Carolina. The game is set to start at noon. Admission and parking are free.
