Men’s Rowing Seeks Second-Straight Conlan Cup Saturday

Syracuse, N.Y. – The No. 14 Orange head to Cambridge, Mass., on Saturday to race No. 9 Boston University and No. 13 Columbia. Syracuse and BU will compete for the Conlan Cup for the 31st time in program history.
'Cuse won the cup last year for the first time since 2012 ending a four-year drought that the Conlan Cup resided at James A. Ten Eyck Memorial Boathouse.
The Orange are fresh off a Stagg Trophy win last weekend after earning the most team points between Syracuse, Cornell and Navy.
Syracuse has won the Conlan Cup 16 times in the 30 times it has been contested since the two first raced for the Conlan Cup in 1987.
The varsity four, led by coxswain Jack Mancini, will start things off at 7:30 am and will be followed by the third varsity eight (7:50 am), second varsity eight (8:20 am) and the first varsity (8:50 am).
About the Conlan Cup
Syracuse and Boston University have been racing for the Conlan Cup every year since 1987 when the trophy was created. The race is named after Bill Conlan who was the founder of the Boston University rowing program.
