A pair of school records were shattered last weekend, thanks to Justyn Knight and Paige Stoner. For breaking their own records, Knight and Stoner earned ACC Performer of the Week honors.
Knight turned in the seventh fastest time ever by a collegiate competitor in the 1500-meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational. His time of 3:36.07 bested his own school record by three seconds and also set an ACC record. He came up 0.08 seconds behind defending NCAA Champion Josh Kerr in the event. Knight currently ranks second nationally in the event.
Stoner did her damage at the Virginia Challenge. She bested her own record in the steeplechase by six seconds, crossing the line in 9:57.20 for the win. Her time ranks fifth nationally and bested her record from last year.
Knight and Stoner will next race at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford, a week from Friday.
