Previewing this week's NCAA East Prelims
Women's 100-meters | Thursday | 6:55 p.m.
Syracuse competitor: Imani Clark (11.44)
Top seed: Aleia Hobbs (10.86), LSU
Format: Six heats. Top three from each heat, plus next six fastest times advance to the quarterfinals. Three quarterfinal heats where top-three from each heat, plus next three fastest advance to Eugene.
- Clark enters the meet coming off a 14th-place finish at the ACC Championships, where she ran to a time of 11.79 seconds.
- She also took 12th in the 200, ninth in the 4x100 and raced in the 4x400 as well.
- The 100 at the ACC Championships was her first 100-meter race since she set her preliminary round seed time at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational on April 6.
Women's 200-meters | Friday | 7:55 p.m.
Syracuse competitors: Imani Clark (23.58), Dasia Pressley (23.61)
Top seed: Lynna Irby (22.25). Georgia
Format: Six heats. Top three from each heat, plus next six fastest times advance to the quarterfinals. Three quarterfinal heats where top-three from each heat, plus next three fastest advance to Eugene.
- Clark enters after finishing 12th at the event in the ACC Championships, while Dasia Pressley finished 17th. Both also competed in the 100 and 4x100 at the event.
- Pressley and Clark each set their seed times during a seventh and eighth-place finish at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational in early April.
Men's 110-meter hurdles | Friday | 4:30 p.m.
Syracuse competitors: Angelo Goss (13.72), Matt Moore (13.84), Richard Floyd (13.97), David Gilstrap (14.07).
Top seed: Grant Holloway (13.15), Florida
Format: Six heats. Top three from each heat, plus next six fastest times advance to the quarterfinals. Three quarterfinal heats where top-three from each heat, plus next three fastest advance to Eugene.
- Goss and Moore are looking to follow up their All-America indoor seasons with a trip to Eugene during each of their first outdoor campaigns at Syracuse, while Floyd and Gilstrap are seeking their first trip to the NCAA Championships.
- Goss is coming off an ACC Championship in the 110-meter hurdles, while Moore was the runner-up. Floyd took fourth at the meet.
- One of the best hurdling programs in the nation under Dave Hegland, 'Cuse is seeking to post at least one All-American in this event for the sixth time in the last-seven seasons. The only exception to the streak since 2012, was when Orange standout and two-time NCAA runner-up in the 60H Freddie Crittenden III was forced to pull up with injury in 2017 in a season which he was expected to contend for an NCAA title. Otherwise, Syracuse has been represented in Eugene each year since 2012 in the event. With the 100-meters included, Hegland has seen one of his athletes compete in Eugene in each of the last-six years.

Top seed: Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (12.40), Kentucky
Format: Six heats. Top three from each heat, plus next six fastest times advance to the quarterfinals. Three quarterfinal heats where top-three from each heat, plus next three fastest advance to Eugene.
- Thevenin had tremendous success at this meet last season, running back-to-back personal-best times to advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon and earn All-America status.
- She enters this season's east prelim with a seed time she set nearly a month ago at the UF Tom Jones Memorial on April 13.
- She will enter with the 31st-best time in the event this season in the East.
