Adam Terry Named Radio Analyst for Orange Football
7/13/2018 11:00:00 AM | Football, General
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Syracuse University and NFL offensive lineman Adam Terry is the new color analyst for Syracuse IMG Sports Network football broadcasts. Terry will work with "Voice of the Orange" Matt Park and longtime host and sideline reporter Brian Higgins during the 2018 season.
Â
Terry was a member of the radio broadcast team last fall, providing pre-game, halftime and post-game game analysis of Orange home games. He replaces former Orange tight end Chris Gedney alongside Park in the broadcast booth. Gedney served as analyst from 2007 until his passing in March. A 2018 Syracuse Letterwinner of Distinction, Gedney will be honored during the Orange's home finale Nov. 9 against Louisville.
Â
"Chris will be missed deeply and he will always be in our thoughts," Park said. "Adam is ready to step up and put his own stamp on the role Chris filled so well for the past 10 seasons. As an NFL-caliber offensive tackle, he'll provide unique insight into the game. Adam's strong ties throughout Upstate New York and his passion for the Syracuse football program will immediately resonate with Orange fans."
Â
A native of Queensbury, N.Y., Terry makes his home in Rochester where he is owner and operator of Power Train Sports and Fitness. He earned his undergraduate degree in history from Syracuse and is currently enrolled in the MBA program at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. Terry played for the Orange from 2001-04, starting 35 consecutive games at left tackle.
Â
A 2004 All-BIG EAST First Team selection, Terry was taken in the second round (64th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. He played five seasons in Baltimore and also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans during his seven-year NFL career.
Â
In addition to working on Syracuse IMG Sports Network broadcasts last season, Terry's on-air experience includes a stint as a studio analyst for Spectrum Sports' Syracuse football programming. In 2017, Terry served as the color analyst for the Syracuse-Middle Tennessee game, which was produced by ESPN and aired on ACC Network Extra.
Â
"I'm very thankful to Syracuse Athletics and IMG for giving me this opportunity," Terry said. "Growing up, Syracuse was my hometown team. That connection led me to play there. I'm excited to reestablish that bond as a broadcaster. College football produces many great moments like last season's Clemson win and I look forward to sharing them with the audience."
Â
With Terry moving to the analyst's chair, former Syracuse cornerback Julian Whigham is joining the broadcast team for the upcoming season. A four-year letterwinner (2012-15) and Buffalo Bills free-agent signee, Whigham will lend his expertise during the pre-game show and at halftime of Orange home games.
Â
Syracuse opens the season on Friday, Aug. 31 at Western Michigan. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
Â
Season and individual game tickets for Orange football are on sale now online (Cuse.com/tickets), by phone (888-DOME-TIX) and in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). Season tickets start at $125.
