
‘Cuse Lands Eight on IRA All-Academic Team

BOSTON, MA. – Eight members of the Syracuse University men's rowing team have earned Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) All-Academic Team selections for the 2017-18 academic year. Alex Manfredi, Andrew Cummings, Dominic Santora, Gregory Bauefeld, Jack Mancini, Matthew Barni, Patrick Shober and Sunlee Stechuk join 294 other student-athletes from 28 member institutions.
To be eligible for recognition a student-athlete must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.35 or higher, completed one full year at their institution, be an institutional letter winner and competed at the 2018 IRA National Championship Regatta.
Syracuse earned its second top-10 finish at the IRA Championships on June 3 placing eighth overall with the varsity eight earning a second-place finish in the Petite Final. The second varsity eight finished ninth while the third varsity eight was tenth putting all three of Syracuse's varsity eight boats in the top-10, a feat the Orange were chasing all season.
