SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse and Colgate will meet on the hardwood for the 171st time when the two teams square off on Wednesday, Nov. 21, in the Dome. The two Central New York rivals will be squaring off for the 26th straight season.
The Raiders are the most frequent foe in Syracuse hoop history. The Orange own a 125-45 advantage in the all-time series that dates to the 1901-02 season. Syracuse has claimed victory in the most recent 51 pairings, including a 72-58 triumph last winter.
Colgate was 19-14 overall and 12-6 in the Patriot League a year ago. The squad reached the Patriot League title game and competed in the College Basketball Invitational. Top returning performers for the Raiders include junior forward Will Rayman (14.6 ppg., 6.7 rpg.) and sophomore guard Jordan Burns (11.9 ppg.).
Coach Matt Langel was the 2018 Patriot League Coach of the Year. He is entering his eighth season as Colgate head coach.
Syracuse was 23-14 and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 before a loss to Duke ended its 2017-18 campaign. Coach Jim Boeheim, who ranks second in career wins among Division I mentors, is preparing for his 43rd season as Syracuse head coach.
Syracuse season tickets start at $250 and are available for sale on-line (Cuse.com/tickets), by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
