In his first full summer on the professional circuit, Freddie Crittenden III appears poised to join the ranks of former Orange hurdlers making a name for themselves on the world stage.
Crittenden III picked up his first European win at the Bellinzona Gala Dei Castelli in Switzerland on July 18, in what was his first race overseas. He turned in a new 110-meter hurdles PR in the process, finishing in 13.31 seconds.
Five days later, the '17 graduate posted a mark of 13.33 seconds at the Müller Anniversary Games in London, which was good for a third-place finish in the Diamond League event.
His success comes on the heels of a strong start to the USATF Championships, where he posted the second-best time in the first round of the event (13.49 seconds), but a fall in the semifinals ended his event early.
Fellow Orange alum Jarret Eaton took bronze at the USATF Championships, crossing the line in 13.51 in the final. Angelo Goss also qualified for the events, marking three 'Cuse hurdlers at the American championships.
