SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange head coach Dino Babers concluded his third fall camp as Syracuse's sideline leader Thursday with a two-hour workout on the Schwartzwalder and Katz Practice Fields. The session capped a stretch of 19 preseason practices, including two scrimmages, that began Aug. 2.
On Friday, the team held a "mock game" at the Carrier Dome where the Orange rehearsed specific elements and logistics of gameday. They also posed for the 2018 team picture, as well as unit photos.
KLEINBERG PLACED ON SCHOLARSHIP
After Friday's run through at the Dome, senior tight end Kyle Kleinberg was rewarded with a scholarship for the 2018 season. Babers called Kleinberg up in front of the team before sharing the good news. A non-scholarship player his first three years, Kleinberg has appeared in 32 game and earned three varsity letters. He has seven career special teams tackles.
DUNGEY, SLAYTON MAKE SENIOR BOWL WATCH LIST
The Reese's Senior Bowl released its watch list for the 70th edition of the nation's premier college football all-star game on Thursday. Among the more than 350 senior student-athletes included were Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey and defensive tackle Chris Slayton. The 2019 Senior Bowl will he held on Jan. 26 in Mobile, Ala. and features a total of 110 players who make up the North and South squads.

ISHMAEL AND FRANKLIN PERFORMING WELL FOR COLTS
Two familiar names showed up at the top of the stat sheet for the Indianapolis Colts in their preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens Monday night. Former Orange linebacker Zaire Franklin paced the squad with nine tackles and ex-Syracuse receiver Steve Ishmael led the way with 52 yards receiving, including a sensational 39-yard grab.
The Colts returned to action last night, defeating the San Francisco 49ers 23-17. Franklin was at the top of the Colts' tackle chart again, tying Sio Moore for the team lead with six stops. Ishmael had one catch for eight yards against the 49ers.
