ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse (3-2, 0-1) is coming off 11 days of game rest after the match against Clemson scheduled for last Friday was postponed due to Hurricane Florence. The Orange will play two games at home against Virginia and then Colgate on Monday, before they head back on the road.
Â
The last time out, the Orange shutout Cornell with a 2-0 win on the road. Freshman Ryan Raposo had another big night, scoring the first goal for the Orange, and then assisting on the second goal. Grad student Len Zeugner scored his first goal of the season and Syracuse's second goal of the game. Goalkeeper Hendrik Hilpert made eight saves, which was just one shy of his career high.

SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS
Virginia is 3-0-2 after recording a 2-0 win against FIU on Tuesday. The Cavaliers are ranked No. 22 in this week's coaches poll and No. 11 by Soccer America. Friday's match will be Virginia's first road test of the season. The Cavaliers have not scored more than two goals in a game this season.
Â
Cabrel Happi Kamseu and Joe Bell lead the Cavalier offense. Happi Kamseu has two goals and four points, while Bell has one goal and one assist. Colin Shutler has played every minute in goal for the Cavaliers, allowing only one goal all season. He leads the ACC in goals-against average (.184) and shutouts (4).
Â
THE SERIES
Syracuse and Virginia have met three times since 2013. The series is tied, 1-1-1. Last season, the Orange traveled to Charlottesville to take on the Cavaliers in the ACC opener for both teams. Syracuse took the lead on Hugo Delhommelle's penalty kick in the 22nd minute, but Virginia scored back-to-back goals in the second half to take a 2-1 lead. Jonathan Hagman tied the score in the 83rd minute on his third goal of the year. Neither team could find the back of the net in the remainder of regulation and the two overtime periods as the match ended in a 2-2 tie.
