SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange women's soccer team wraps up its three-match road trip in South Beach this weekend. Both Syracuse (3-8 overall, 0-3-0 ACC) and Miami (3-6-2 overall, 0-3-0 ACC) seek their first Atlantic Coast Conference win of the year when they square off Saturday evening in Coral Gables, Fla.
The match kicks off at 7 p.m. and airs on ACC Network Extra via WatchESPN.
LAST TIME OUT
A spirited performance against Louisville ended in heartbreak for Syracuse last Sunday.
Deadlocked at zero through the first 89 minutes of action, Louisville's Brooklynn Rivers scored the match-winning goal with nine seconds remaining in regulation to earn the 1-0 victory for the Cardinals.
A LOOK AROUND THE CONFERENCE
The ACC has six women's soccer teams among the United Soccer Coaches poll, the most of any league – including three teams ranked among the top 10 - No. 3 North Carolina, No. 6 Virginia, No. 10 Florida State, No. 11 Boston College, No. 15 Duke and No. 21 NC State.
Louisville is No. 24 in the Soccer America poll giving the ACC a total of seven ranked teams this week.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
Miami enters Saturday night's match with a 3-6-2 overall record. The Hurricanes are 0-0-3 in conference play, suffering setbacks against Clemson, Duke and Virginia Tech.
Syracuse won last season's match-up by the score of 1-0 and owns a 6-3-1 record all-time against the Hurricanes, who are former BIG EAST Conference rivals.
WHAT LIES AHEAD
The Orange return to the friendly confines of SU Soccer Stadium for three consecutive home matches. Syracuse plays NC State at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 before hosting UNC at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7.
The homestand ends against Notre Dame Saturday, Oct. 13.
