Orange Welcome Miami for First Top 25 Matchup in Carrier Dome this Season

Syracuse, N.Y. – Syracuse (15-3) will host its first top 25 opponent in the Carrier Dome this season when the No. 13/14 Orange welcome No. 23 Miami on Wednesday, Jan. 23. 'Cuse is 3-2 against nationally-ranked opponents this season with wins over No. 16 DePaul, No. 20 Texas A&M and No. 25 Virginia Tech. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on ACCN Extra with Noah Eagle and Jack McMullen on the call.
The Orange are coming off their first Atlantic Coast Conference loss of the season, which snapped a nine-game win streak. Georgia Tech defeated Syracuse 65-55 on Sunday handing the Orange their largest margin of defeat of the season while the Yellow Jackets held 'Cuse to a season-low 55 points. Syracuse fell one spot in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 Poll to No. 13 and moved two spots in the USA Today Coaches Poll to No. 14.
Wednesday is the 29th meeting in program history between Syracuse and Miami. The Hurricanes lead the all-time series 19-9 after winning last season's game 72-67 on Jan. 18, 2018. Tiana Mangakahia was a rebound shy of a triple double with 17 points, nine rebounds and 14 assists in the loss. Mangakahia's 14 assists were the most by an opponent in Miami's history. Syracuse is 5-7 all-time against the Hurricanes at home and won the last meeting in the Carrier Dome, 81-48, on Jan. 22, 2017.
Miami (16-4, 4-1 ACC) is receiving votes in this week's AP Top 25 and jumped back into the USA Today Coaches Poll after a pair of wins over Duke and North Carolina last week. Beatrice Mompremier was named ACC Player of the Week on Monday, her second weekly honor of the season by the conference office.
Wednesday is Greek Night in the Carrier Dome and will also serve as a special rewards game for fans through the Syracuse Fan Rewards App. Tickets are available online.
