Tooker Joins Sub-Four Mile Club

Aidan Tooker became the latest Syracuse runner to break four minutes in the mile, finishing as the top collegian at the John Thomas Invitational, with a time of 3:59.39.
Tooker's feat marks the fifth-straight season Syracuse has posted a sub-four minute mile. He joins Justyn Knight, Joel Hubbard, Martin Hehir and Adam Palamar in accomplishing the feat in a Syracuse uniform.
Behind Tooker, Michael Phillips (4:02.57) finished 10th in 4:02.57. Later on, Noah Beveridge (4:09.21) and Nathan Henderson (4:09.66) finished second and third in their section of the race, good for 15th and 18th overall in a field of 140 runners.
Tooker wasn't the only one to have a strong showing is Joe Dragon and Kevin James were the first and second collegians in the 5k as well. Dragon crossed the line in 14:05.59, while James was nine seconds behind in 14:14.74. Nathan Lawler (14:50.09) and Joey Eovaldi (14:54.17) finished 23rd and 25th, respectively. Stephen Schulz finished 40th in 15:15.55.
Iliass Aouani took seventh in the 3000-meter run in 8:01.88. Teammate Keith McAteer finished in 8:50.38 as well.
On day two in New York, Aviana Goode finished fifth in the women's high jump after clearing 1.70 meters.
Kadejhia Sellers looked strong in her season debut, taking sixth in the 400 with a time of 55.54. Alexis Crosby was right behind in 55.90.
In the 200, Dasia Pressley crossed the line in 24.56 seconds, which was good for 11th.
'Cuse is back in Boston next weekend at the Harvard Crimson Elite and BU Bruce Lehane Invitational.
