
No. 15 Orange Travel to No. 13 Boston College Friday

Syracuse, N.Y. – With a week of preparation, the 15th-ranked Syracuse field hockey team heads to Chestnut Hill, Ma., to face No. 13 Boston College at 6 p.m. on Friday. The Orange are 8-4 overall and 1-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), while the Eagles are 8-5 overall and 2-1 in league play. Syracuse has won three of its last five games including a pair of overtime wins on the road at No. 2 Duke and Cal. The Orange look to bounce back after a 3-1 loss to No. 1 North Carolina last weekend. Syracuse averages 2.17 goals per game and 14.2 shots per game. 'Cuse is outscoring opponents 26-22 this season and has a 2.55 goals against average. Charlotte de Vries leads the team with 14 goals and one assist for 29 points. Laura Graziosi, SJ Quigley, Carolin Hoffmann and Claire Cooke each have two goals while Quigley leads the squad with five assists.
Boston College enters Friday on a four-game win streak, which began Oct. 4 with a 1-0 road win at No. 8 Virginia. The Eagles have wins over the Cavaliers and No. 18 Wake Forest in conference play and lost, 3-2, to No. 6 Louisville. Boston College averages 2.85 goals per game and is holding opponents to 1.69 goals and 9.9 shots per game. Margo Carlin has a team-high 15 goals and three assists for 33 points, which ranks fifth in the nation in points per game (2.54) and goals per game (1.15).
Syracuse leads the all-time series 24-8 and has won five-straight against the Eagles. Boston College's most recent win over the Orange was in 2014 when BC won 3-2 in overtime. Last time the two met, 'Cuse defeated BC, 2-1, in overtime at J.S. Coyne Stadium on Oct. 5, 2018.
