
Orange Send Five to Northeast Regional Championship

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse women's tennis is back in action as it heads to West Point, N.Y. for the ITA Northeast Regional Championship that runs Oct.17-22. 'Cuse will be represented by seniors Miranda Ramirez and Guzal Yusupova, junior Sofya Golubovskaya, sophomore Sofya Treshcheva, and freshman Kim Hansen. All five Orange will compete in both singles and doubles, with each student-athlete kicking off the tournament on Friday with a pair of doubles matches and one singles match.

Doubles Matchups
The tandem of Golubovskaya and Treshcheva will start the tournament as the No. 1 seed and will face off against UConn's Julieanne Bou and Cassie Chung (No. 2 seed). Seventh-seeded Ramirez and Yusupova will be taking on Columbia's Michelle Xu and Julia Haynes.

Singles Play
All five of Syracuse's players will see action in the main singles draw, with Yusupova, Ramirez and Golubovskaya earning first-round byes. Hansen will kick things off against Michelle Xu of Columbia, followed by Treshcheva playing Emme Levenson of Colgate.
