ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse improved its record to 5-3-4 on Tuesday night after defeating Connecticut, 1-0. The Orange outshot UConn, 12-3, and controlled the game from start to finish. Junior Sondre Norheim scored his second goal in as many games in the 55th minute for the game winner. The goal was a header off a corner kick from senior Massimo Ferrin. Ferrin leads the team in assists with five, which are tied for fourth in the ACC.

In their last league match, the Orange upset No. 18 North Carolina, 4-3. Syracuse is now 1-2-2 in conference action and are tied for fourth place in the Atlantic Division standings.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Clemson is coming off a dominate 4-0 victory against Louisville, which improved its record to 10-1-1 and 3-1-1 in the ACC. After the win, the Tigers, which are in second place in the ACC Atlantic Division standings, jumped up to No. 8 in the United Soccer Coaches poll. Clemson is now one of three ACC teams ranked in the top 10, along with No. 1 Virginia and No. 4 Wake Forest.

Clemson players are leading the ACC in goals, assists and points. Junior Kimarni Smith leads the Tigers' offense and the ACC with 13 goals and 28 points. Senior Tanner Dieterich and freshman Phillip Mayaka lead in assists with seven each. The Tigers' defense has had six shutouts on the season and has only allowed opponents to score 11 goals. Sophomore George Marks has been the primary goalkeeper for Clemson. He has a .652 save percentage and a 0.77 goals against average.

Head Coach Mike Noonan is in his 10th season at the helm of the Clemson program. In Noonan's time with the Tigers, they have won the ACC Tournament once (2014) and made five NCAA Tournament appearances, including in 2015 when they were national runner-up.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks the 11th matchup between the Orange and Tigers. The all-time series is tied at 3-3-4 with the last nine matches having been decided by one goal or less. Last season, Clemson defeated Syracuse, 3-2, in South Carolina. Ferrin scored a goal on an assist by Ryan Raposo in the 82nd minute to bring the Orange within striking distance, but ultimately Syracuse was not able to come away with the victory.
