BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Longtime rivals Syracuse and Penn State will meet on Friday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. in the NIT Season Tipoff at the Barclay's Center. It marks the first meeting between the two schools since 1982.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse (4-2, 0-1) had its four-game winning streak snapped in an 86-72 setback to Oklahoma State on Wednesday in Brooklyn. Redshirt junior Elijah Hughes scored a career-high 28 points to lead the 'Cuse effort. He was 8-for-10 from the field and 7-for-8 from the free throw line. Freshman Joseph Girard III also reached double figures in scoring with 12 points to go along with a season-best nine assists.

SCOUTING THE NITTANY LIONS
Penn State suffered a 74-72 loss to Ole Miss on Wednesday, ending its five-game winning streak to start the season.

Lamar Stevens leads the Penn State offense, averaging 17.7 points per game. Myreon Jones (11.8 ppg.), Mike Watkins (11.3 ppg.) and Myles Dread (10.5 ppg.) also average double figures in points. In addition, Stevens leads the Nittany Lions on the boards (8.2 rpg.), while Watkins has 24 blocked shots.
Patrick Chambers is in his ninth season at the helm of the Penn State program. He previously served as head coach at Boston University and was a member of Jay Wright's staff at Villanova.

Friday's game marks the 106th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Penn State. The Orange lead the all-time series, 62-43. The squads met at least once every season from 1947-48 through 1980-81. Syracuse recorded a 69-68 win in the last meeting on January 25, 1982.
