
Orange Head to Boston for ACC Tournament

Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse University field hockey team begins post-season play this Thursday when it faces Louisville in the ACC Tournament in Boston. The Orange are No. 12 in the nation and ranked fourth in the ACC. Syracuse finished the regular season 12-5 after it defeated Louisville in overtime in the regular-season finale.

'Cuse will make its seventh ACC Tournament appearance and the first as a No. 4 seed. Since joining the ACC in 2013, Syracuse holds the record for most goals scored in an individual game (4).

The Orange and Louisville have never played each other in the ACC Tournament. The Cardinals make their sixth ACC Tournament appearance since joining the conference in 2014, and their second as a No. 5 seed. Syracuse has faced Louisville 17 times since 1998, and the Orange lead the series, 11-6.

Last year, No. 7 Syracuse was defeated in the first round by No. 2 seed Duke, 4-1.

Action is set to begin at noon at the Newton Field Hockey Complex Thursday, Nov. 7. Tickets for the ACC Tournament Pass (all games) are $10 and single-game tickets are $5. Youth tickets (18 and under) are free. All tickets are available for purchase on game day at the Stadium. Â
