
Orange Face #7 Louisville Sunday on ESPN2

The Orange face their third-straight top-25 opponent, and sixth of the season, Sunday, Dec. 29 when Syracuse travels to Louisville to face the No. 7 Cardinals (11-1) in the Atlantic Coast Conference season opener. Fans can watch live at 2 p.m. on ESPN2 with Debbi Antonelli and Pam Ward on the call.

Syracuse (6-5) and Louisville (11-1) meet for the 18th time in program history Sunday. Louisville leads the all-time series 11-6 and Jeff Walz is 10-4 against Syracuse's Quentin Hillsman since the two first faced each other as head coaches in 2007.

The Orange are 1-4 against nationally-ranked opponents with a win over #19 Michigan State and losses to #1 Oregon, #3 Stanford, #24 Michigan and #22 West Virginia.

Kiara Lewis leads Syracuse with 15.9 points per game and is coming off a career-high 32 points in Syracuse's two-point loss to #22 West Virginia on Dec. 22. Emily Engstler leads the ACC in rebounds per game (11.4) and is in second in blocked shots. She is the national leader in defensive rebounds per game (9.5).

Louisville has lost once this season and enters Sunday's matchup coming off a 71-63 double overtime win at UT-Martin on Dec. 19. Dana Evans leads the Cardinals with 19.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Kylee Shook is the team's best rebounder with 8.8 per game and recently became the program's all-time leader in blocks.
