
Orange, Retrievers Meet Sunday for Doggy Day

It has been 14 days since the Orange (4-4) played a game in the Carrier Dome. During the two week duration the Orange have traveled 6,827 miles, played four games in two different countries and faced two nationally-ranked opponents. 'Cuse finally returns home Sunday, December 8 when the Orange host the UMBC Retrievers for Doggy Day at the Dome. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. on ACCNX.

Fans are encouraged to bring their four-legged friends to Sunday's game. The first 200 people that visit the marketing table in the backcourt will receive a dog poo bag dispenser.
'Cuse went 1-3 during the four-game road stretch and looks to snap its first three-game losing streak since the 2013-14 season. Kiara Lewis leads the team with 15.5 points, 5.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game. Emily Engstler tallied her fifth double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds against No. 24 Michigan on Thursday night. The sophomore guard stuffed the stat sheet with six assists and a career-high five blocks in the loss. Engstler and Digna Strautmane are tied for second in scoring with 10.8 points per game while Gabrielle Cooper adds 9.4 points per game.

The Orange average 70.6 points per game and are shooting 38 percent from the field this season with 43.6 rebounds per game. Engstler leads the ACC with 11.6 rebounds per game while Lewis is in the top-10 in scoring and ranks third in assists per game.

UMBC is 2-6 this season, coming off a 58-44 loss at Kennesaw State on Dec. 1. The Retrievers are led by seventh season head coach Johnetta Hayes. Te'yjah Oliver paces the squad with 20.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. She is shooting 41.8 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range. Janee'a Summers adds 9.6 points and leads UMBC with 7.9 boards per game.
