Of note:
- Due to a string of injuries in the goaltending department, Lindenwood placed freshman forward Madilynn Hickey in goal for the game. Hickey made 32 stops for her side and was aided by her teammates laying out for 26 blocks.
- First time scoring over five goals since Oct. 29 vs. Union.
- All but one player on the roster recorded a point on the day.
- Syracuse put 45 shots on net throughout the contest.
- Bellefontaine's short-handed goal was the Orange's first since Oct. 19 vs. Colgate.
How it happened:
- Syracuse took control early into the first, peppering the goal through the opening 11 minutes until senior Kelli Rowswell went top shelf from the right dot to put 'Cuse up 1-0. Bellefontaine added an insurance goal minutes later from between the circles to give the Orange a healthy 2-0 lead.
- Syracuse busted the doors wide open after that, putting up seven goals in the second and four in the third. Sophomore Shelby Calof recorded the lone unassisted goal, hers coming off a wrist shot from the top of the circle in the dying moments of the second period.
