Syracuse, N.Y. – The 16th-ranked Syracuse Orange women's basketball team hosts No. 12 NC State (21-2, 8-2 ACC) for Doggy Day in the Carrier Dome on Wednesday night. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
'Cuse looks to capitalize on a dominant performance on Sunday when the Orange defeated Boston College 96-69. The Orange are 18-5 overall and 7-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Syracuse is 3-4 this season against ranked opponents and the Wolfpack will be the eighth nationally ranked opponent for the Orange this season.
After the best start in history (21-0), NC State was handed back-to-back losses by North Carolina and No. 24/19 Florida State. Three more ranked opponents stand in front of the Wolfpack as conference season winds down including a date with No. 6 Notre Dame on Monday night.
Despite NC State leading the all-time series 5-4, the Orange are 4-3 against the Wolfpack under the leadership of head coach Quentin Hillsman. Last year when the two met in their lone meeting, NC State escaped with a 60-56 win at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh.
Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at 1-888-DOMETIX, or by visiting the Carrier Dome box office (Gate B) during normal business hours.
The Orange continue their five-game home stand on Sunday when they host Wake Forest on Senior Day at 2 p.m.
About Doggy Day
Fans in attendance with their dogs receive a water bowl, while all fans and their furry friends are invited to participate in the "doggy zone" set up in the backcourt with local dog organizations such as shelters, day cares, trainers and groomers.
All dogs must enter through Gates A and C and must always be on their leash. Suggested sections for fans to sit with their dogs are 103-105 and 111-114. Relief stations will be located outside Gates A and C, as well.
Dog owners must bring documentation from their veterinarian showing vaccination records, as well as license and registration.
Syracuse University venue guidelines do not permit dogs for events outside of 'Doggy Day', with the exception of registered service animals.
