
#18 Orange Set For Big Monday Showdown Against #5 Notre Dame

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A record crowd is expected when the 18th-ranked Syracuse Orange women's basketball team hosts defending national champion Notre Dame at 6 p.m. in the Carrier Dome on February 25th in a game that will be televised on ESPN2's Big Monday. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic congestion and lines at the Dome in anticipation of the record crowd. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and parking lots open at 3:30 p.m.
Syracuse (20-6, 8-4 ACC) is 10-2 at home this season and is coming off a 90-63 win over Pittsburgh. It marked the seventh time this season that the Orange scored 90 points or more. Tiana Mangakahia, the team leader in points (15.2) and assists (8.4) per game, had her sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 assists. Freshman Emily Engstler led 'Cuse in scoring with 17 points and posted her most impressive stat line of the season adding six rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals in 18 minutes.
Arike Ogunbowale paces the Fighting Irish (25-3, 12-2) with 21.2 points per game, while Jessica Shepard has a team-best 9.8 rebounds per game. Notre Dame is the ninth nationally ranked opponent for the Orange this season.
Syracuse is in pursuit of its first win against the Fighting Irish during the Quentin Hillsman era. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 32-2. Syracuse's lone win over ND at home was in 1988 when 'Cuse won 63-56 in Manley Fieldhouse. Last time the Orange beat Notre Dame was in the 2002 BIG EAST Tournament when the Orange won 84-79 in the semifinals. Syracuse went on to make its second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history that year.
Prior to the game fans are invited to enjoy activities in the Carrier Dome backcourt, including Inflatable – interactive basketball shooting, a selfie station with Otto, and a balloon artist. Merchandise and food/beverage stands will be open. Entertainment will feature the Max Eyle Trio. T-shirts will be given out to the first 1,000 fans at the gates. At halftime, fans will be treated to a performance of 'Tyler's Amazing Balancing Act.'
PARKING
Parking is free in designated University lots. Fans with reserved parking vouchers are invited to park in West Campus lots (Stadium, Fine and Standart) on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parking for fans who do not have vouchers will be available in the University Avenue and Booth garages, as well as the Manley Field House North and South lots. Designated shuttle service to and from the Manley Field House lots to College Place will begin at 4:30 pm. Fans arriving prior to 4:30 p.m. are invited to take regularly scheduled campus busses that indicate the 'College Place' route. (To access the Manley Field House parking lots, take Interstate 81 to the Brighton Ave. exit or Route 481 to the Brighton Ave./Rock Cut Rd. exit and follow the signs.) Fans intending to park in the Manley North and South lots should plan to arrive at the lot by 5 pm in order to catch the shuttle and get to your seat in the Carrier Dome before tipoff. ADA parking will be available at the Irving Garage, as well as the Dome lot and Q3 lot on a space available basis.
SECURITY AND BAG POLICY
Syracuse uses the Clear Bag Policy and security screening is utilized at every gate via walkthrough metal detectors.
TICKETS
All fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance and to use the mobile ticket option or the 'print at home' feature to help avoid long waits at the Box Office due to the large crowd that is expected. General admission tickets are available online, by phone or at the Carrier Dome box office (Gate B) during normal business hours.
Individual game tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and children 12 and under. On game day, tickets can be purchased at the Carrier Dome Box Office beginning at 8:30 a.m. At 4:30 p.m. ticket windows outside of gates A, B, C and E will open. Cash or major credit cards will be accepted.
