
#17 ‘Cuse Battles #22 Florida State Thursday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The 17th-ranked Syracuse University women's basketball team travels to No.22/21 Florida State for their ninth Top-25 matchup this season. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday and fans can watch live on ACC Network Extra.
Syracuse (20-7, 9-5 ACC) wrapped up its home schedule with a loss to No. 4 Notre Dame, 98-68, in front of the largest crowd of the season Monday night. Four Syracuse players scored in double-digits for the third consecutive game, including Tiana Mangakahia who tallied a team-best 17 points and added seven assists and four steals. Mangakahia paces the Orange this season with 15.2 points per game and leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in assists (227) and assists per game (8.4).
Florida State is 21-6 overall this year with a 9-5 mark in conference play. Last week, the Seminoles fell to No. 15 Miami, 54-64. Nausia Woolfolk contributed a game-high 20 points and added four rebounds and three assists. Forward Kiah Gillespie paces the team with 16.5 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per game.
Florida State leads the all-time series 3-2 with a 2-0 record in Tallahassee. Last time both teams met, the Orange upset the then-ranked No. 11/12 Florida State, 76-69, in the Carrier Dome. Miranda Drummond led all scorers with a career-high 38 points.
The two teams are currently tied for fifth in the ACC with two more games each to play. The Orange finish up the regular season on the road at Boston College on Sunday, March 3, while the Seminoles face Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Sunday. ACC Tournament seeds will be announced at the conclusion of Sunday's league games.
