Kadejhia Sellers finished second overall in the 400-meter run, with a season best time of 53.65. Teammate Alexis Crosby turned in a personal best at the event, crossing the line in 55.32, which was good for 12th. Sellers' time was 0.68 seconds off her own school record, while Crosby's time moves her up on the Orange's performance list in the event. Just four athletes have posted a better time in school history.
Cheyenne Trigg – who finished in 57.58 seconds – also competed in the event, finishing 47th.
The PRs didn't stop at the 400 either. Sellers would later win the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.95, with Dasia Pressley right on her heels in second place with a time of 24.13. Crosby, continuing her big day, finished with a mark of 24.57 – another personal best – which was good for 11th.
Rachel Bonner kept the PRs coming in the distance events, she posted a career-best 9:22.35 in the 3000-meter run, which earned her 11th in a field of nearly 200 competitors. Madeleine Davison (9:27.65) was right behind in 16th, with another personal best.
Mary Malone (9:41.16/36th), Melissa Lodge (9:55.42/59th), Ellie Lawler (9:57.50/65th), Kelsey Potts (10:12.00/101st) and Maggie Toczko (10:32.96/144th) also raced for the Orange in the event.
In the women's mile, Ryley Higgins posted a mark of 5:19.35.
At the Iowa State Classic, Noah Affolder exploded for a personal-best time of 8:01.24 to win the open portion of the men's 3000-meters. He was five-seconds faster than the next-closest competitor, Notre Dame's Andrew Alexander.
Paige Stoner finished sixth in the invite heat of the women's 5k, which featured over 20 top collegians. She finished second among the six ACC competitors in the race, crossing the line in 15:55.29. Aidan Tooker finished 14th in his race, crossing the line in 14:16.45.
Syracuse will continue action today at the David Hemery Invite for the men's mile, 3000 and 5000-meter events and will next have one final tune-up before the ACC Championships at the Marc Deneault Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 16.
