Women’s Rowing Opens Spring Season Saturday

The 13th-ranked Syracuse University women's rowing team opens its spring season at the Doc Hosea Invitational on Saturday, March 30, on Cooper River in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
The first flight, which will feature the Syracuse varsity eight, is set to start at 8:00 am. The second varsity eight will start at approximately 8:24 am, followed by varsity four at 8:48 am and varsity four 'B' at 9:12 am. The top two teams from each race will advance to the Grand Final, while all other teams will compete in the Petite Final. The final races will begin at 11:00 am.
In their last fall outing, the Orange put three varsity fours in the top five and claimed the first spot in the varsity eights at the Cornell Classic.
The Doc Hosea Invitational is rowed in honor of the late Dr. Tim Hosea, a longtime USRowing Team Physician, for his contributions to the sport. Other teams competing at the invitational this year include Northeastern, Penn, Boston University, UMass, Rutgers, Columbia, Dartmouth, Minnesota, Navy, Rhode Island, and Temple.
