
Orange Duo Named to ACC All-Tournament Team

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Syracuse junior Emily Hawryschuk and sophomore Grace Fahey were named to the ACC Women's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team on Sunday, April 28. The pair helped the Orange advance to the tournament semifinals.

Hawryschuk posted four goals in each of Syracuse's two games and finished the tournament with nine points. She recorded four goals and an assist in the first-round win against No. 7/7 Virginia, helping the Orange to a 12-10 victory. Hawryschuk also had four goals and grabbed a career-high 12 draw controls in the 14-13 semifinal loss to then No. 1-ranked and unbeaten Boston College.

Fahey started on Syracuse's defensive unit in both games. She recorded two ground balls, one caused turnover and a draw control against Virginia. Against Boston College, Fahey recorded career highs in ground balls (4) and draw controls (5) and tied her personal best with two caused turnovers. In addition, she held Boston College All-American and Tewaaraton Award nominee, Kenzie Kent, the nation's fourth-leading scorer entering the tournament, to just three points.

Hawryschuk and Fahey are two of six members of the Orange who have earned ACC honors this season. Hawryschuk was also named to the All-ACC First Team, while senior Nicole Levy, redshirt junior Mary Rahal, junior Kerry Defliese and freshman Sarah Cooper earned All-ACC Second Team accolades.

The Orange will learn their NCAA Tournament fate when the field is announced on Sunday, May 5. Syracuse will enter the tournament with a 15-4 record.
